Your Vacation
History
Founded in 1968 Dune Point has achieved a premiere reputation in the guest house rental industry. Uninterrupted for over 40 years from the original owner, “Dutch”, today Dune Point continues to serve new and returning guests. Cherry Grove is located on Fire Island, a barrier island separated from the southern side of Long Island by the Great South Bay. The hamlet has approximately 300 houses on 41 acres, a summer seasonal population of 2,000 and a year-round population of 15.
What To Do
Cherry Grove is an experience not a destination; this is a no stress community of flip-flops and dancing shoes, burgers and bistros. You may choose to read a book on the beach or dance ‘til dawn. Cherry Grove is less than a ½ mile square with the Atlantic Ocean beach to the south and Great Bay to the north. Work that tan on our white sand beach or swim in the pristine blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The west end borders the Sunken Forest National Park, a natural phenomenon where you can enjoy an afternoon stroll. To the east lies a smaller forest, a short walk through this wooded paradise will bring you to The Pines. Stroll the walkways to the bay and watch a spectacular sunset you will cherish forever. Dine in one of the restaurants or stop by one of the friendly bars for a sunset cocktail.
Walk downtown to a club and dance, take in a show; or just relax, unwind and watch a movie in your private room.
